The LATEST DOCUMENTS released by the Brazilian police regarding the tragic passing of 21-year-old girl Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas: 3 ARRESTED suspects make an unacceptable move at the police headquarters; Maria Eduarda truly passed away IN UTTER INJUSTICE
Those arrested in the case of the 21-year-old girl who died from bungee jumping without a safety cord stated that they did not remember who performed the final check.
The three individuals arrested in connection with the death of 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, who died while bungee jumping in the state of São Paulo, told police that inspecting the safety equipment was a shared responsibility of the entire team, and they “did not remember” who was in charge of fastening the cord for the victim.
According to the testimonies, the staff members did not have fixed duties. When asked who performed the final check before Maria’s jump, Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, replied: “I don’t remember.” Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42, gave a similar answer. Both claimed they suffered from “temporary amnesia” and could not identify where or at what moment the error occurred.

The three suspects—Maicon Fernandes Cintra, Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, and Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27—have been placed in preventative detention under charges of homicide with implied malice. Their defense attorney stated that all three remain in a state of shock, as this is the first fatal accident in their many years of working in the profession.
Meanwhile, Maria’s mother spoke out for the first time following her daughter’s funeral on June 14. She painfully wrote on social media: “That damn rope took you away from me forever. My beloved daughter is gone, leaving behind only pain and longing. I will love you forever.”
The municipal government of Limeira also announced its intention to sue the Brazilian federal government for failing to adequately control and monitor the abandoned railway structure known as the Skeleton Bridge, where the incident occurred. Mayor Murilo Felix stated that this location has repeatedly seen severe accidents, yet the necessary safety measures have not been implemented.

Maria Eduarda, who had just graduated with a degree in Physical Education and Sports Management, arrived at the Skeleton Bridge on the morning of June 13 to participate in the bungee jump. According to local media, she wanted to perform the jump in an “airplane” pose, spreading both arms wide while two instructors lifted her body and then released her from a height of approximately 40 meters.
The shocking video circulating on the internet shows Maria wearing a helmet and a safety harness, but she was completely disconnected from the bungee rope. After she was pushed off the bridge, numerous bystanders panicked and screamed: “The rope! The rope!”

Just a few minutes before the accident, Maria posted multiple stories on Instagram expressing her nervousness and excitement. One of them featured the text: “Who is the crazy person that let me jump off this bridge?” She also took a photo of a warning sign bearing a skeleton icon with the content: “Danger. Risk of death,” and showed off paper wristbands printed with the messages “I am about to fly” and “Cleared for takeoff.”
Following the incident, six individuals were taken in for questioning. Among them, two employees reportedly fled the scene before being tracked down and arrested by authorities.
