The Condition of the Mothers: Facing a Harsh Reality

In addition to the young victims, the three mothers injured in the shooting have been a primary focus of public concern. Family representative Leshun Berry spoke out to address rumors circulating on social media and provided updates on their health status:

  • Christina Snow and Keosha Pugh: These two mothers have been officially discharged from the hospital. However, their physical pain pales in comparison to the psychological shock of being fully aware of the tragic reality that their children were murdered in the attack.
  • Shanique Elkins: She remains in the hospital, continuing her recovery from her injuries.

Unfinished Dreams of Little Angels

Amidst infinite grief, the family has shared photos and touching stories of the victims so the world remembers them as more than just statistics. Three of the eight children killed have been identified: Khedarrion, Sariah, and Braylon.

Leshun Berry, the children’s aunt, tearfully recalled the noble dreams they once held:

  • Sariah: She dreamed of one day opening a homeless shelter.
  • Khedarrion and Braylon: The boys aspired to be community leaders, contributing their efforts to the development of society.

Those dreams have now been permanently cut short, leaving a void that can never be filled for the family and the city of Shreveport.

A Call for Unity: “How Can They Return to Work Right Now?”

Currently, all three victim families are facing extremely difficult circumstances. Beyond the loss of loved ones, they have been displaced and are staying in various locations. Leshun Berry, who owns a daycare center, issued an urgent plea for community support.

“These three families are in unity. They’re gonna need stuff after. So the donations… we need those to keep coming in,” Berry shared. “Because how can we take them and put them back into the workforce? How can we say after the funeral, take a few days off and go back to work?”.

Financial support and essential supplies will not only help them navigate this dire period but also provide the foundation for them to have time to heal deep spiritual wounds.

How to Support

All contributions and donations to assist the three families during their recovery process can be sent directly to the following location:

  • Location: Valley of Hope Center for Kids.
  • Address: 2936 Greenwood Rd., Shreveport, LA 71109.

The Shreveport community and surrounding areas are standing together to ensure that the survivors are not alone in their battle to reclaim their lives after the Cedar Grove tragedy. The investigation into the incident remains active.
